Mr. Boyle has introduced his honors geometry class to Google Sketch Up. Miss Micayla M has done an amazing job learning this program on her own. Check out her first 3D creation! She even put water in her pool!

Students in the computer lab are working on a new program called "Scratch". Scratch is a program where students can create their own interactive stories, games, music and art. While working with this program they are developing important design and problem-solving skills, learning how to think creatively, reason systematically, and working collaboratively. Scratch was developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten research group at the MIT Media Lab. In my opinion the best part of Scratch is the math concepts it supports.
We are just beginning this project and the end result will be a video game they program; however, I am so proud of their accomplishment I wanted to share with you. Keep in mind that these projects all started with a blank screen and students programed in all of the motions. This is their fourth day on the program.
