Dancing with the FX'rs

Our spanish student teacher, Eli Johnson, is going above and beyond with the students of the Freshmen Experience.  He is  teaching them how to Salsa.  It has been a real pleasure to watch Eli during his student teaching experience.  Under the supervision of Terri Baker we have watched Eli become an original, innovative, dedicated and fun teacher.


Mr. Pierce's classes spent some time last week dissecting poetry. The mini-unit culminated in a Poetry Analysis Challenge.  In this challenge, students from each class teamed up to see who could locate and explain poetic devices such as symbolism, alliteration, personification, metaphors, etc. within a single poem. The team that best analyzed the poem was deemed our Master of Poetry. All of the classes did very well, but the winning class was able to pull out an amazing score by identifying and explaining 42 aspects of analysis in the poem.
